Julia Jiyoung Lee, LAc. , Dipl. OM
Julia was born and grew up in Seoul, South Korea. She attended Hankuk University of Foreign studies where she graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Arabic Studies. Julia was interested in acupuncture and Oriental medicine from a young age. Her grandfather was a Doctor or Oriental Medicine, so Julia gained a lot of knowledge about acupuncture and Oriental Medicine through him.
After coming to the USA, Julia recieved a Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at South Baylo University. Following her graduation, she became a professor for the VA campus of South Baylo University. She taught herbal medicine and acupuncture there, while starting up her own acupuncture clinic.
Julia is an NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine) Board certified Diplomate of Oriental Medicine. She received her Clean Needle Technique Certificate from the (CCAOM) Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Julia holds license of acupuncture in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC. She is a member of American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, the Acupuncture Society of Virginia, Korean Oriental Medicine Association of Virginia-Maryland, and Acupuncturists without Borders.
She continues to update and expand her knowledge of the latest methods, protocols and treatments using acupuncture and Chinese herbal therapy via continuing education classes. Her priority is on the safety, health, effect of her patients. It is her goal at Sports Care Acupuncture Clinic to empower people so that they can achieve optimal wellness.
